who am i?

Welcome to page and to my first ever Blog Post. My name is Christal Gines, I’m 34, married, mother to 2 humans boy and girl and a dog.

How can I describe myself? 

Not sure! I can be the girl that drinks a smoothie for breakfast and eats a quinoa salad for lunch also I can be the one that makes the line at the Macdonalds drive thru, do you follow?  Yes?! I thought so. 

What do I do?

Im a former hairstylist been in the industry since I was 17, thats when I also had my first born. At the end of 2020 i became pregnant with my cutie angel baby girl and due to complications I decided It was best for me to spend my pregnancy at home.  Heart broken at the moment because even though hair wasn’t my passion and its been a while since I was kinda looking of what else to do; I truly love to work and be self sufficient, but Hey! everything happens for a reason. 

What am I doing now?

During my pregnancy my best friend and her bf bought a brand new home and asked me to decorate it. ME!! I was like WOW these two are crazy! They said, We love how your house is coming along( a house we bought on Feb 2020) and we want you to decorate it. Feeling hesitant about it I consulted with my husband and first thing he tells me was: “I’ve been telling you this for years, you have a great eye for interior decor”; and he did tell me for a long time. And I guess in others peoples eyes i do have a good eye for it. So I agreed. 

How is it going?

So I researched online on how to create an Interior Design Proposal, created one for them, presented it and got hired right away. WOW! My First Project for an actual client, pinch me! But, Now what? So I enrolled on the most advanced and comprehensive online Interior Design Course at THE INTERIOR DESING INSTITUTE. Kept working on my First Project and studying. Months passed, gave birth to Alma, a couple more months passed and finally got my I.D. Diploma and went straight to taking advanced classes on 2d&3d renders. Phew! It’s been a busy year, but it’s all coming along. The house is almost ready, so far we’ve completed the Living Room, Kitchen and Dining Room. But we have plans to do the Guest Bathroom and Master Bedroom. In the meantime I got hired by another good friend to remodel her Living Room and Dining Area. OK! so now it’s getting real.

What’s the plan?

I spent many, many years working as a Hairstylist and I can say it is a beautiful and gratifying career. The relationships I made, getting to express my creativity and making my clients feel their best every time they left my chair would make me feel happy but at the end I knew Hair wasn’t it. I couldn’t picture myself as a hairstylist for another 3 years. I knew there was something else out there for me and I had to make a change in my life and get out of my comfort zone to find it. So here I am 2 years later, a diploma in Interior Design, working on 3 projects and I couldn’t be happier!
